Perfection Realized

Manolo Blahnik for Liberty Scarf, Super Sunglasses, Marciano Tank, Topshop Shorts, Traffic People Clutch, Jeffrey Campbell Shoes

Every now and then I experience a fashion moment where I feel like everything is put together just the way it should be. Believe me, these moments are few and far between, as with most young women, putting together the perfectly coordinated head-to-toe ensemble can be timely and expensive. Thus, usually I settle for getting some of it right, which for me, usually means I’ve done a good job with the clothes, but the shoes and the accessories could use a little work. Forgive me for basking in a moment of self-glory, but this outfit, worn for sunset cocktails at the rooftop pool of the Gansevoort in South Beach was one of my better fashion moments. Consequently, there are a few things going on here that are worthy of further discussion:

1) Turbans might fall into that category of looks that are frequently being referred to as “man-repelling” but aren’t they wonderful? Absolutely, I think. This scarf is a collaboration between Liberty (last mentioned here) and Manolo Blahnik, but I call it my fav London purchase. The scarf is big enough to be worn several ways, and it is so incredibly colorful that depending on how you fold it, you can get several different looks out of it.

2) While I’m not too girly, for some reason I die for anything with lace, ruffles, and bows. I fell in love with these shorts, which I also picked up in London from Topshop at Oxford Circus. They came in black too, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that I spent a good 45 minutes at Topshop engaged in the single-issue debate over which color to purchase. I eventually chose these because black seemed like the safe choice for me.

3) Ummm, do you notice the little skulls on this clutch? Ok, I love skulls. No you don’t understand, I love skulls. I automatically buy anything with a skull on it and I usually don’t regret any of my purchases.

Honestly, this look incorporates almost everything I love. What do you think? Perfection maybe???
