I mentioned this before, probably exactly one year ago, and I promise I’ll mention it again…and again. I love New Years! Not because of the parties or the football or the vacation day. There’s just something about turning the page that gets me every year. It’s that spark of ambition and drive to create a better version of myself and a more fulfilling life for myself that always rears its lovely little head this time of year. Suffice it to say, I feel inspired to start anew. Again and again, year after year. So if I could offer just one small piece of advice for all you Type-A’s who love setting goals and sticking to them: take a few minutes (or hours) today or tomorrow to spend some time inside your head thinking about where you’ve been and where you want to go. And write it down. And once you’ve memorialized it, don’t tuck it away someplace it will soon be forgotten. Keep it ripe in your mind and close to your heart. Dreams do come true. For me, 2013 is the year mine will. It’s that complicated, but it’s that simple!
Thank you all for the past year. Fifty-plus hour work weeks can get exhausting and sometimes the whining and complaining seem to overshadow the joy and happiness but from the bottom of my big heart I want each and every one of you to know that I cherish it all: every comment, every compliment, every email from some remote part of the world, every word of advice, every Facebook “like,” everything, everything, everything. Please stay with me in 2013, I promise it will be worth it!
