Fall and Beyond
Zara shirt, Theyskens’ Theory shorts, Alexander Wang bag, BCBG shoes, J Crew bracelet, Karen Walker sunglasses, Michael Kors watch, Made Her Think earrings, Ioselliani ring
These shorts are easily my favorite purchase this season (thus far, at least; afterall, fall has just begun, and there is still much shopping to be done). They are a perfect day to night transition piece, and also, fall to winter (they will look amazing paired with a fun pair of tights). Coincidentally, this shirt is also a great transition piece and I’m pretty sure I’m basically going to live in it for months to come. I can’t wait to wear it with leggings, a leather jacket, and my over-the-knee boots in a few months. Suffice it to say, both pieces will be on repeat.

Ok, I’ll admit that my somewhat obsession with model Freja Beha Erichsen stems from my somewhat obsession with her gnarly tattoos. Additionally, she never fails to capture my attention when flipping through the monthlies. She isn’t conventionally beautiful, and she is slightly androngynous, but she looks like one bad-ass chick. So I was pretty stoked to see her looking amazing in the F/W ad campaigns for Isabel Marant and Chanel.

I have a lot of favs, but she is my all-time, absolute, most beloved ever! I admit it, I am obsessed. I do happen to love me very much, but if I had to be reborn as someone else, no question, it would be her. Fashion wise, she can do no wrong. And while I was all about to head over to Barneys Coop after work today to get those Helmut Lang leather leggings on my fall wishlist (here), I am now thinking about taking a detour over to Intermix on Robertson for these instead. I love you Victoria!

This weekend, I experienced a fleeting moment of loneliness so I did what any fashion addict would do and took a little trip (literally down the street) to Barneys in Beverly Hills, my happy place. While browsing the amazing selection of Rag & Bone, Phillip Lim, Helmut Lang, Isabel Marant, Carven, and Theyskens’ Theory (all my current favs!), I happened upon this amazing piece by Alexander Wang. Now I wasn’t planning on trying anything on until this little number had to go and fall in love with me, and I’ll be darned if I wasn’t instantly swept away to the nearest fitting room for a quickie (try on that is – as much as I love clothes, I loathe trying them on). Turns out, it really did love me! And now it’s all I can think about. Barneys, why must you always do this to me?

Ok, so this is a lot of color to take in. A lot of the same color. But sometimes it’s really fun to have the audacity to go balls out with color. And it seems to me, plaid never goes out of style. It’s just an issue of cut and color. For instance, back in the grunge era (I think I was in 7th grade) people wore huge plaid shirts with baggy jeans a la Kurt Cobain and Jordan Catalano. The best thing about this one is that it snaps. Who doesn’t like a snap-on shirt? Heaven for the perpetually lazy.
