The Spring Coat

resortrocksugar-as-2 ‘

AllSaints coat, One Teaspoon cut-offs, Zara tank, Joe’s Jeans pumps, Givenchy handbag, Valley Eyewear sunnies

The moment I met this camel sleeveless coat, I knew it was a match made in heaven. Not with me though – with my perfect denim cut-offs. Mixing pieces that don’t necessarily belong is practically part of my DNA. I like juxtaposition. After all, I’m a lawyer/fashion blogger. I’m predictably high maintenance, but almost always have a chipped manicure. I’m addicted to tattoos in a rebellious sort of way, yet I’m kind of sort of the least rebellious person you’ll ever meet.  My heart is wild, but my spirit is cool, calm, and collected. So high heels seem perfect with shorts and a expertly crafted sleeveless spring coat. Bang bang.

Shades of Pink

Recovering from the madness that was Coachella and preparing to start trial. Oh, and apparently Easter is around the corner, which makes me feel like I should be feeling pink. Which I kind of am. Have a great week kids! xoxo

Mixing Brights

resortrocksugarbrights-5

Maeve skirt, Zara shirt and heels, necklace from Anthropologie

On a scale from predictably safe to way outside my comfort zone, this outfit is off the charts. Still, I’m daring to be more adventurous, and kind of loving the results. This Maeve skirt, from Anthropologie, was love at first sight, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience trying on different shirt options with it. Ultimately, I settled for something that is clearly not matchy-matchy, but surprisingly, works nonetheless.

Track Pants

Joie pants, Zara shirt and shoes, Givenchy bag, Ray-Ban aviators

I’ve been obsessed with Victoria Beckham for several years now (as everyone in the universe knows), but back during the Spice Girls era, Sporty Spice was my favorite. Though there is little tomboy left in me today, I’ve become sort of obsessed with the sporty pants + heels look. It seems to represent the perfect evolution of tomboy to woman. After all, even Sporty herself graduated to heels.

My mom used to say of me, “Champagne taste on a beer budget,” which honestly couldn’t be more true except now my budget has grown at least a little from my college days. Elle magazine could give me 10 bikini options or bracelet options or shoe options and without knowing who made what, I will automatically always pick the most expensive as my favorite. I like nice things. And nice places. But most of all, I like nice people. So I’m not entirely a disgusting capitalist buying into consumer culture.
