All Red Everything

Sandro jacket and pants, Bailey 44 bralet (exclusive for Intermix), Zara heels, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Valley Eyewear sunnies

I can’t escape this tomato-like reddish orange fabulousness – definitely this season’s hot color. And I’m not complaining since its a bright twist on my favorite color. Funny because I rarely rock red, but decided if I was going to, why hold back? All red everything. Well almost.

Casual Sunday

resortrocksugarmar-3

Topshop top and hat, One Teaspoon shorts, Rails plaid shirt, Stuart Weitzman boots, Pamela Love cuff

I keep trying to bring these Stuart Weitzman boots with me into spring/summer, even though they feel slightly inappropriate. This is my latest attempt – which feels sort of music festival-ish except that you can’t really rock Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots at an outdoor music festival. But apparently you can on a random Sunday in May in downtown LA. True story.

This week I’m preparing for London and Stockholm, which is confusing in the sense that it is clearly summer here in LA, but not so much there. So I’m planning a spring/autumn wardrobe and hoping the temperature stays somewhere in the 70’s. And with packing and getting my life in order before I leave and putting in time at work, you’d think I would be distracted enough not to think about my heart and what’s weighing heavily on it – but I’m a feeler so no luck there. So if you catch me staring off into space smiling, its because of him.

Right now I’m listening to “Hungry Eyes” from my favorite movie soundtrack – Dirty Dancing. It’s a scene I’ve watched over 20 times – probably the most watched movie of my childhood. Still, every time I hear this song it takes me back to Baby discovering her inner sexy  while falling in love with Johnny. At the beginning of the scene, she is dressed conservatively, clearly insecure, and totally the girl next door. By the end of the song, she is dancing in her underwear, putting on makeup, and comfortably letting Johnny caress her waist. Listening to the song brings both tears to my eyes and a smile in my heart. It’s everything. Love, growing up, finding confidence, the loss of innocence, a reminder of my childhood, and the yearning to fall in love that way again. Hope you have a good week and find something that makes your heart smile the way this song made mine! xoxo

Frankie B. Jeans short overalls, For Love & Lemons crop top, FREEBIRD booties

In case you wondered, my addiction to overalls runs the gamut from short to long and everything in between. I fell for these ones when I saw the cute leather suspender like straps, because not surprisingly, I’m a fan of suspenders too.
