August
August is here and yet I feel like only yesterday I was celebrating the first weekend of summer. Any day now the September issues will be arriving, but even they seem late since all everyone seems to want to talk about is pre-fall. I want nothing to do with it. Or the sun setting earlier and earlier every night. Or rain in Los Angeles in midsummer. What I really want is a weekend at the Parker in Palm Springs basking in 100+ degree heat and ignoring the September issues piling up in my mailbox.

I’m a frequent visitor at the Goodwill, mainly because I have very limited closet space so I’m constantly being forced to revaluate my wardrobe and clear out the old to make way for the new. This Diesel tee has been a long-standing member of my closet. Though I wear it infrequently, I can’t seem to get rid of it. It’s just my kind of rock ‘n roll.

I’ve been dying over this Tibi skirt for some time now, so when I found it in cobalt it felt like a no-brainer. Except for fall, Tibi has come out with one in a brilliant Barbie doll pink, which is almost as tempting, but potentially not as versatile as this one.

Just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse, they did. So that happened. But then, even when it seems like your woes are weighing too heavily on your heart to the point where you want to avoid thinking because thinking means feeling and it hurts to feel, you know you have to keep going and even the act of just moving oddly becomes like a little ray of hope. So here is to another week! It has to be better than the last because the last was as bad as it can ever get!

It took me a long time to realize that the money you budget for shopping should be invested in handbags and shoes – if you get them right, nobody cares about what else you have on. I can’t tell you how many people see only my handbag – I may as well be naked. Or in this case – in a simple white tee and denim.
