Those who know me know that I’m big on quotes. I’m also a huge lover of literature (mostly fiction) and writers of the past. At this point in my life, I’ve read so many good books that its hard to pick a favorite, but when I was younger I could easily say “This Side of Paradise” by F. Scott Fitzgerald was top of my list, and Mr. Fitzgerald was my favorite author. Lately, I’ve been really into Fitzgerald quotes and the one I keep re-reading whenever I’m in need of some solid inspiration is, “For what it’s worth, it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start over.” Had I read this quote in law school, I potentially would have ended up a law school dropout and I think my life would have been all the better if I had. But alas, per Fitzgerald, it’s never too late. Which is why I’m anxiously awaiting 2015.

I’ve been home in LA for about a month and I already have the itch again. When I’m gone, I crave stability, but when I’m home for too long, I want adventure. So I’m excited for November – not so much for the long flights, airplane germs, and uncomfortable in-and-out of consciousness naps, but for the adventures that follow. Stay tuned! And Happy Halloween week! xoxo

Excited for round 2 with these boots. The best purchases are the ones that don’t expire when the season ends.

Two months ago, the karma police paid me a visit of the unwelcome kind. When they were through with me, I was left with what I thought was a non-healing sprained ankle up until an MRI last week when I came to learn a ligament was torn. The saddest most awful part — I’m going to be in flats now for another one to two months. But in the interest of optimism, I’ve decided to embrace flats. Which means I get to go shopping! Although not sure if anything I discover can compete with these Miu Miu beauties!

Almost Grey Everything

Recently, when I told my friends I planned to hike Machu Picchu for Thanksgiving, they laughed in disbelief. For reasons unbeknownst to me, they don’t think I can rough it. This to me, of course, is surprising, because I’m actually incredibly low maintenance. In fact, my normal post-shower morning routine lasts about 5 minutes. It’s pretty much lotion, deodorant, face oil, moisturizer, eye liner, and mascara. Most mornings, I don’t even comb my hair. Plus, there is nothing more consistent in my day-to-day life than the gym – which means I pretty much live in gym clothes. (Ok, thats a lie, but you know what I mean…) So five days in gym clothes without makeup and mirrors in the great outdoors should not be laughable. Except if I happen to encounter abnormally large insects, because then my reaction, err, performance, will have my audience crying with laughter. I almost forgot what any of that has to do with this. Actually, I totally forgot. But we’ll save that story for another day (if it comes back to me).
