August is here and yet I feel like only yesterday I was celebrating the first weekend of summer. Any day now the September issues will be arriving, but even they seem late since all everyone seems to want to talk about is pre-fall. I want nothing to do with it. Or the sun setting earlier and earlier every night. Or rain in Los Angeles in midsummer. What I really want is a weekend at the Parker in Palm Springs basking in 100+ degree heat and ignoring the September issues piling up in my mailbox.
